THE STORY OF MY VOICE STARTED OFF LIKE SO MANY OTHERS. I DISCOVERED MY LOVE FOR SINGING AT A RELATIVELY YOUNG AGE. AND AFTER YEARS OF TRAINING AND TRYING TO GET BETTER, I WAS LEFT FEELING FRUSTRATED.

In fact, I was so frustrated that I was close to giving up on singing entirely. I had studied under a traditional Bel Canto voice teacher for four years. After hundreds of hours practicing and thousands of dollars spent, I had improved in some ways, but not in the ways I really cared about.

After it was all said and done, I could sing in five different languages, but I still had major holes in my singing ability. I had a huge "flip" between my chest and head register, and I couldn’t sing with power on anything above a middle C without straining my voice.

BUT THAT ALL CHANGED AFTER I FOUND THE RIGHT COACH.

I started taking lessons with a coach named Brett Manning, and I moved to Nashville in order to study under his instruction full-time. Eventually, I began studying to become a vocal coach, and in 2012, began teaching out of Brett’s studio on Music Row. Just two years later, I opened my own studio and created The Unhindered Voice.

The Unhindered Voice was founded under the belief that our voices are products of more than just our physiology; they are also a product of our stories. A voice that is truly "unhindered" is not only physically disciplined, but is able to express the full spectrum of human emotion and spirituality.

The truth is that we were created to sing. We were all given voices that were designed to be heard. The Unhindered Voice exists to help everyone experience the joy that comes with discovering your voice's true potential.

MOST SINGERS UNDERESTIMATE THEMSELVES. THEY DON'T REALIZE HOW MUCH POTENTIAL THEY HAVE OR THAT THE VOICE THEY WERE GIVEN IS MORE BEAUTIFUL AND MORE POWERFUL THAN THEY HAVE LIKELY DARED TO BELIEVE.

I have had the privilege of working with some of the music industry's top voices, including Joel & Luke Smallbone (For King & Country), Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, Phil Wickham, Jordan Feliz, Micah Tyler, Moriah Smallbone, Mike Weaver (Big Daddy Weave), Bethel Music, Elevation Worship, Anne Wilson, Brandon Lake, Mike Donehey (10th Avenue North), and Charity Gayle.

I have trained singers on six continents and in over 50 countries. And I run the world’s premier membership for singer’s, which provides a unique combination of online courses, live coaching, and community interaction.

But my story has only just begun. I continually look for innovative ways to help singers experience the joy of discovering their voice’s true potential. After being a husband to my wife and a father to my two beautiful daughters, helping you sing with a sense of true freedom and authority is my life’s calling.
